Dr. Shoval completed her training at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia/Cornell where she served as chief resident. She is triple board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation, and brain injury. She has lectured nationally and internationally and has published in the field of rehabilitation, most notably on botulinum toxin injections and ethanol nerve blocks. She currently serves on the research committee for the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine.

She has a special interest in health equity, and corporate social innovation, and is working with the Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation to create local and national initiatives to improve health equity, quality, and access to care.
