Ikjae Lee MD MSc

Dr. Lee is a research-oriented, board-certified neurologist and neuromuscular specialist committed to advancing the treatment and prevention of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. He completed his medical training at the Seoul National University College of Medicine, the most competitive medical school in South Korea. He moved to the United States in to complete a neurology residency and neuromuscular medicine fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. He was appointed as an assistant professor in neurology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2016 and assumed the responsibility of serving as a co-director of the multidisciplinary ALS clinic at UAB. In 2020, he moved to Columbia University, as a tenure track assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Columbia University and a staff physician in the Eleanor & Lou Gehrig ALS Center. His current research focus is alteration of metabolism in patients with ALS.
