Thyrotoxic periodic paralysis complicated by syncope: results after atropine treatment (ECG)
Electrocardiogram of a 22-year-old man with thyrotoxic periodic paralysis during an episode complicated by syncope. When the initial electrocardiogram showed sinus bradycardia (55 bpm) with incomplete right bundle branch block, the patient was treated with 500 micrograms of atropine was administered intravenously. The subsequent electrocardiogram showed an accelerated junctional rhythm, a corrected QT interval of 614ms, and an incomplete right bundle branch block. (Source: Dosu A, Gupta M, Walsh O, Makan J.
