Blink reflex in the described patient with left Bell palsy showing changes consistent with a left peripheral seventh nerve (efferent) lesion. With left-sided supraorbital stimulation, the ipsilateral R1 was delayed to 15.2 ms (right R1 was 11.7 ms), with prolongation of the ipsilateral R2 but a normal contralateral R2. With right-sided supraorbital stimulation the ipsilateral R2 was normal, but the contralateral was delayed. (Contributed by Dr. James Russell.)
