This image depicts a dorsal view of a patient’s left foot, revealing the effects of a condition known as late yaws. Late yaws develops in only about 10% of people who are infected with yaws. It begins at least 5 years after the appearance of early yaws, and it has the potential to cause severe damage to the skin, bones, and joints, especially in the legs.
