Abnormal hypertrophic neuron characteristics (photomicrograph)

Some of the abnormal hypertrophic neurons resemble large motor neurons; others appear as enlarged teardrop-shaped ganglion cells. A few cells approaching normal granule cell morphology are encountered. (Hematoxylin-eosin; x400) (Contributed by Dr. Laura Hair.)
