Nonenhanced cranial CT scans in this 4-year-old boy demonstrate an initially small, likely mixed acute/hyperacute parietal epidural hematoma. Initial scan is seen in (A). While still in the emergency department, the patient became drowsier, and over a period of less than 5 minutes he was unresponsive. He was taken immediately for a head CT. (B) reveals the greatly expanded mass causing significant midline shift. (Contributed by Dr. Jose Biller.)
