"The Great Lozenge-Maker: A Hint to Paterfamilias" (1858)

Death, the poisonous candy maker, is shown mixing arsenic with a mortar and pestle. A barrel full of arsenic and a wooden box full of plaster of Paris are to either side, and a countertop with candies laid out is behind. Paterfamilias is the male head of a family or household.
