Chronic renal failure and severe restless legs syndrome (polysomnogram)

Periodic leg movements during wakefulness in a 50-year-old woman with chronic renal failure and severe restless legs syndrome. The movements occur every 17 seconds to 18 seconds and are more vigorous in the right leg than the left leg. Similar leg movements continued during stage 1 NREM and 2 NREM sleep.
