EEG recorded during two brief typical myoclonic absence seizures during hyperventilation occurring concomitant with an abrupt onset and offset of generalized spike-wave discharges. (10a) The patient’s head bent forward and left with a vague look, then there was a synchronous upward-abducted jerk of the upper limbs (right more than left) and right leg concomitant with brief unsteadiness. (Top arrow) The start of upper limb movement. (Low arrow) Body unsteadiness. (10b) Two similar but more brief clinical events occurred in consequence. (Contributed by Dr. Athanasios Covanis.)
