The giant Magrath (1757), painted by Venetian painter Pietro Longhi (1701/1702-1785) when Magrath visited Venice. Oil on canvas. In this illustration, Magrath appears mildly barrel-chested, and he has evident genu valgum (knock knees), though not as extreme as his postmortem skeleton showed. This painting is currently in Ca' Rezzonico, a palazzo on the Grand Canal in the Dorsoduro sestiere (one of six areas) of Venice, Italy. (Courtesy of Wikimedia Commons. Public domain.)
