Gadolinium-enhanced T2-weighted MRI scan from above patient at the end of therapy showing resolution of the abscesses. Antibiotics were withdrawn one at a time, and the MRI was repeated 1 to 2 weeks after each drug was discontinued to rule out reappearance of any of the lesions. The patient represents an instance of successful treatment of brain abscesses with antibiotic therapy alone. (Contributed by Dr. John E Greenlee.)
