Congenital muscular dystrophy: merosin deficient form (muscle histology showing muscle fiber necrosis)

Paraffin sections from muscle biopsy were stained with hematoxylin-eosin (A) and modified Gomori trichrome (B). There is variation of muscle fiber size, increased connective tissue, and some infiltration of inflammatory cells (magnification: 200x). (Contributed by Dr. Gyula Acsadi.)
