Facial deformity in late tertiary yaws infection

This photograph depicts a 45-year-old woman from the Ivory Coast who displayed a facial lesion and underlying bone deformity as a result of a late tertiary yaws infection. This patient’s Venereal Disease Research Laboratory test (VDRL) produced a positive result of 1:16 and was accompanied by the microhemagglutination assay (MHA-TP) test, which was also reactive, or positive.
