Cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis in a 66-year-old Indian man (MRI)

FLAIR axial images (A-D) show hyperintensities along bilateral periventricular white matter and corticospinal tracts along internal capsules, midbrain, and pons. Bilateral globus pallidi appear hypointense on T1 (E) and hyperintense on T2 (F). Bilateral dentate nuclei appear slightly hyperintense on coronal T2 images (G, white arrow). Susceptibility-weighted imaging shows blooming in the left more than right globus pallidi lesions (H). (Source: Katragadda P, Holla VV, Kamble N, Saini J, Yadav R, Pal PK.
