Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Marines with CBRN platoon, Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, clear the area after gathering samples during an aircraft chemical leak training scenario at Westfield on May 13, 2014. Marines conducted assessment and consequence management training through several scenarios to sustain familiarity with safely conducting research and gathering samples in a contaminated environment. One scenario contained an aircraft leaking chemical agents, and the other scenario included locating a chemical agent spill and rescuing multiple casualties in the field. Both scenarios utilized the Rapid Area Sensitive Sight and Reconnaissance robot to investigate the hazardous areas to search for and mitigate potentially harmful substances CBRN personnel may not be aware of.
