Polygraphic recording of sleep terror in a child. The episode began in slow-wave sleep and consisted of EEG synchronization, eye movements, start of tachycardia (ECG), marked increase in submental muscle tone (mylo), and change in respiratory rate. EOG = electrooculogram; Mylo = mylohyoideus-chin EMG; Resp = thoracoabdominal respiration; ECG = electrocardiogram. (Contributed by Dr. Federica Provini.)
