Axial diffusivity maps in noise-induced hearing loss

Axial diffusivity maps show significant differences between patients with mild noise‐induced hearing loss, relatively severe noise‐induced hearing loss, and healthy controls. The red-yellow highlighted areas indicate higher axial diffusivity values in the left inferior longitudinal fasciculus, left inferior fronto-occipital fasciculus, right corticospinal tract, right external capsule, and right superior longitudinal fasciculus; they are significantly lower in the left corticospinal tract, right anterior thalamic radiation, and right superior cerebellar peduncle. The background image consists of the standard MNI T1-weighted template at 1 mm thickness and the fractional anisotropy skeleton (green).
