Despite similar clinical features, the interictal EEG is different with occipital paroxysms (upper left), scattered spikes (upper right), repetitive multifocal spikes (lower left), and extraoccipital spikes (lower middle); brief generalized discharges may occur either alone (lower right) or more often, with focal spikes.
