Typical absence seizures in a 5.5-year-old boy. During hyperventilation, he stopped overbreathing, and his eyes opened and stared within 1 second of discharge onset. After about 3 seconds, he started rhythmic-marked horizontal head jerking toward his right side. The jerks became less frequent toward the end of the 15-second discharge.
